Welcome at the airport & proceed to Colombo for check-in (Standard check in time : 14.00 hrs) (40 KM / 1h 0m) Evening meet the your local guide and a get a brief on the main objectives of the tour.

Uncover Kandy’s hidden gems! Explore bustling markets with your guide, learning about local teas. Hop on a tuk tuk for a history lesson on wheels. Then, witness tea preparation at a local boutique – a taste of authentic Sri Lankan culture before relaxing at your hotel.

Day 03 - Deltota

Start your day with a scenic hike (7:45 AM) through the Loolecondera tea estate (10 km round trip, moderate difficulty). Enjoy breathtaking views and rest stops every 1.5 km. Witness historical landmarks like James Taylor’s seat, well, and bungalow ruins. Reach Kondagala peak by 12:30 PM, capture stunning photos, and savor refreshments. The afternoon is yours to relax at the charming Taylors Hill Bungalow.

Start your day with a trip to the Ceylon Tea Museum (closed Mondays & Poya Days, check in advance). Day 05 - Hatton

  • Start your day with an exclusive Tea Experience by Tea Trails! A resident planter guides you through the journey of tea, from “two leaves and a bud” handpicking in the fields to the factory transformation into “made” black tea. Witness the entire process and savor a tasting of various tea grades. (Departure times vary by bungalow).

    Please note: Tea plucking is unavailable on Sundays and public holidays. On these days, an alternative factory tour explaining the process will be provided. The afternoon is yours to relax and indulge at Tea Trails.

Day 06 - Hatton - Nuwara Eliya

Break away for Nuwara Eliya! On route, visit the Tea Research Institute (closed weekends, advanced notice needed). This institute, established in 1925, is a powerhouse of Sri Lankan tea knowledge. (Travel time may vary). Continue to Nuwara Eliya for a luxurious high tea at the historic Grand Hotel (built 1891). Then, unwind at your charming Heritance Tea Factory hotel in Kandapola (check-in time may vary)

Witness the transformation of leaves into finished tea, and savor a delightful tasting session. Choose your preferred time: morning (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) or afternoon (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM).

Day 08 - Nuwara Eliya - Haputale

Embark on a historic journey aboard a train from Nanu Oya (9:18 AM) to Haputale (11:05 AM). Imagine the tea leaves traveling these very tracks over 150 years ago! Upon arrival at Haputale station, you’ll be met and transferred to Thotalagala Planation House for check-in.

  • Start your day with a trip to the historic Dambatenne Tea Factory (15 min) built in 1890 by Sir Thomas Lipton, the founder of “Ceylon Tea.” Witness the factory in action and learn about the tea-making process. Enjoy a unique tea tasting experience, savoring the very essence of Ceylon Tea. .
